the installer basically adds the line
‘www.fllistserver.com’ to the [ListServer] section without the ‘hostname =’
really it should add
hostname = gun.fllistserver.com

Can’t confirm that.
It’s adding
"hostname = gun.fllistserver.com ; GUN server provided by http://www.fllistserver.com"
which should work fine.
The beta version of the installer was tested by about 10 ppl without any problems.
Are you sure that the “hostname =” is missing after using the patch installer?

If I remember theres a file on MODDB that w0dka uped and has a flmod file and a installer that works good (each time I that re-install FL I instal it that way)

hi…. errm i downloaded the installin file but it doesn work… an error comes saying The application failed to initialize proper;y (0xc0000135). Click on OK to terminate the application…… plz tell me why this pops up…. i love freelancer but i cant play onlyn… plz help me…

Ok not sure if this is the place for this or not but tried everything else i can think of. I was until recently sys op for Tekagis Treasure fl mod and we used a dyndns account tekagis.dydns.org for player logins. I have left TT and now run my own Freelancer server and am using fllistserver in my mod install pack and my own dyndns account to. Everything was fine unitl TT was installed on a new home and they used the tekagis.dyndns.org link. Now my server no longer shows on http://www.freelancerserver.de/topservers.htm and in serverlists in game my new server and the old TT one flick back and fwd in same slot. Anyone help me with this.

I don’t get your problem.
You’ve created a new server (with a different server ID), installed TT and now it isn’t shown in the ingame list anymore?
Make sure that you’ve changed the line in freelancer.ini server side.
It coul also be a firewall issue.

No havent loaded TT i am runnibg Evo 2.29 NR at moment but working on a mod for it due soon. I was sys op for TT using tekagis.dyndns.org linked to my IP address. I left TT and now have my own server Spartaevo i have a new code spartaevo.dyndns.org now linked to my IP address. But the guys at TT found someone else to host TT and they are using tekagis.dyndns.org again. As soon as they went live problems started we dont show on topserver list anymore and when you use in game list of servers the 2 servers seem to be competing for same slot flicking from one to the other in same position every few seconds sometmes it will settle on mine but more often on TT and mine no longer shows in list. If you use Lan connection and spartaevo.dyndns.org or my ip in icon properties it only shows my server. I can only assume my ip is still held somewhere against tekagis.dyndns.org and its causing the problem.

Well, sounds to me as you would both use the same server ID.
Make sure you have a different one (for example by deleting your FLServer.cfg or accounts.cfg (not sure which one it was) in your Multiplayer folder.

nope diff ID and i tried deleting both Flserver.cfg and accounts.cfg and letting them recreate on start up still no diff still has the problem. Ive recommended they take out a diff dyndns account thats is only linked to thier ip. Some where the origional tekagis.dyndns.org name is being held with the ip addy of at least 3 people including mine but as long as its active it wont time out.

i have the same conextion problem as dakota, scroll and FL-Fan. get the list come up, select a sever and a message comes up. being as the severs are still running time and time again i can only asume it has somthing to do with my firewall/antivirus. any advice or a point in the right direction would be appreciated.

Are you using a mod or vanilla FL?
I’ve just tested it with some 1.0 servers and it works fine.
Prolly a firewall issue?!

have turned my firewall completely off aswell as my antivirus. the firewall in my router was changed to dmz to alow EVERYTHING THROUGHT. and still i cannot conect!!!!!

Hi, in my case its a fresh Freelancer install without any addons. i’m just using the no-cd crack because of my damaged dvd-drive. I tried to ping the servers and it works (16ms). but i’m still unable to connect.

im begining to belive that its vista. ive been working with a work mate on this and everything we try makes no diffrence. biggest mistake microsoft made was vista. will keep trying, someone will get thier sooner or later.
oh and my ping is fine.

Now i’m pretty sure that it is a vista. i found some forums with threads about the same issue. some stated that it is a vista-firewall-problem, others stated that it is a vista-antivirus-tool problem(norton doesn’t work, macafee works) or a IPv6 Problem or an 3D-Sound issue…just google it. but none of the suggested solutions has worked for me…maybe i will switch back to XP for FL.
