Crazy, we may be able to host the fllistserver for you if the going gets tough? I know people are reluctant to part with cash. We have a dedicated commercial Windows server running our FL mod and we also have a commercial Linux server where we have our web site and can put up another domain (http://xxx.yyy.com)
Let me know if you think this will be possible to do.

Perhaps the list server should be set up as a subscription service for a nominal fee. Maybe just a few bucks a month. Just enough to keep the server running, plus a reasonable profit margin. Also you might look into providing the same service for other games for a fee. The
fees could apply to the server operators, the players, or both. By now anybody still playing Freelancer are serious
loyal players who aren’t going to be pushed off by a small
monthly fee. They’ll complain alright, but will probably
understand if they want the list server to keep running.

Hey, no problem. Its just an idea I figured I’d throw out
there for consideration. I wouldn’t want to pay a fee either. However, something has to be done to keep the list
server alive. So long as the community gives its support
then there is no problem.
