Statement
I’ve heard from several people that there will be special rules for the GLS etc.
There won’t be any “joining” rules for the GLS and no servers will be blocked from the GLS list.
It will just work as the original one did without any human intervention.

I have recently got back into Freelancer, having been away for a long, long time. I used to play various Mods including Evolutions and also a splendid 3 system Mod where you fought for tokens / economy points and did group raids. There were barely any stations / trade lanes – it was well worked out, with one central system where all the fighting went on. I can’t remember it’s name. Anyway, I have talked myself and a few friends to get back into Freelancer and there are NO servers in the global Server List when I try to join one. What is going on?

Hello Lorgus. The “old” Global server is down and Mircosoft will not reactivate it. You have to use the direct connection tool to get on the servers of your decision.
The download mirror can be found on nearly every site which has something to do with Freelancer the Game.
I hope this will help you a little bit

Ok, I have read around on this and it seems they went down December last year?
Is someone working on a stunning solution to get them back up again?

Ok, I will keep checking here to see if and when you guys succeed.

might be money ahead to make a patch that repoints to a new DNS. microsoft is notorious for be jerks about something that should be just plain logical.

might even be faster and easier to do the patch
